Read moreA brand new 100% Japanese expression of the Togouchi range, this whisky is a cask strength version of the Togouchi single malt.
Bottled at 52%, this slightly reduced single malt expresses the full potential of its aromatic profile. Similar to the 43% version, its character reveals a more pungent side with fruity notes of apple, apricot and ripe fruits. On the palate, the rougher texture is light and silky, and highlights greedy aromas of honey, vanilla and cocoa. On the finish, spices will make their appearance with notes of pepper and nutmeg.
Created by Master Distiller Taihei Yamamoto, this single malt is a blend of bourbon and sherry casks from the Sakurao distillery inaugurated in 2018, and located on the Seto Inland Sea in the Hiroshima region. The distillery produces whisky for its Sakurao single malt, aged in the cellars on site, and for the Togouchi range, whose whiskies are transferred further into a tunnel dug into a small mountain range.
Product limited to 2 bottles per order.

The distillery Sakurao Distillery
Although the Sakurao Distillery is new to the Japanese whisky distilleries circle, it can draw on the experience of its founder, the Chugoku Jozo house with whom we have worked for years. Renowned for being teeming with natural wonders, it was in Hiroshima Prefecture that she naturally settled down.
