March 2015 Komagatake The Chronicles is a single cask distilled in Shinshu and aged in a First Fill Bourbon Barrel. This expression of a single cask, limited to 218 bottles, surprises by the depth of its aromatic palette evoking those of old whiskies.Â
With a peat content of 20 ppm of phenols, this single malt asserts the character of its profile by delivering a fragrant (coconut, verbena), malty and finely peated first nose. As it airs, the smoke intensifies as well as its spicy and spicy side.
In the mouth, we find the peat of course, but also fruity notes of lemon, apple and pear, and licorice and chlorophyll. Its mentholated finish with almond, kiwi and lychee flavors lets disappear a peat perfumed by the scent of a burning Havana.

The distillery Shinshu Mars

Built at the foot of Mount Komagatake, from which its single malt takes its name, the distillery is surrounded by pure water springs which it uses for the production of its whiskies.
