Founded in 2017 in Sakurao, the Sakurao distillery benefits from a unique geographical location. Its cellars are exposed to two distinct climates: on one side, sea spray brings a saline influence, while on the other, cold winds from the mountains add a distinctive freshness. This duality gives the whisky a broad, complex aromatic palette, characterized by a unique combination of marine notes and mineral nuances.
Unlike the famous Togouchi house blended, which enjoys a solid reputation in France for its excellent value for money, this Sakurao is a distinctive single malt from a single bourbon cask. Distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2023 at 62.30% natural cask strength, it offers an intense sensory experience rich in character.

The distillery Sakurao Distillery
Although the Sakurao Distillery is new to the Japanese whisky distilleries circle, it can draw on the experience of its founder, the Chugoku Jozo house with whom we have worked for years. Renowned for being teeming with natural wonders, it was in Hiroshima Prefecture that she naturally settled down.
