Saburomaru II High Priestess has a complex nose, with aromas of raspberry jam, fig and cappuccino. On the palate, it offers exceptional richness with notes of raisin, orange and caramelized hazelnut. The finish is long and marked by flavors of peat, anise and clove, offering a deep, lingering taste experience.

This whisky is made from 50 PPM malted barley distilled twice, then aged in a new Spanish oak cask, giving it its deep ruby amber color. Bottled as cask strength, it has an alcohol content of 59%, and uses both ale yeast and whisky yeast for fermentation. The mash tun is made by Miyake Seisakusho, and a pair of cast-iron Zemon stills are used for distillation. This whisky is specially bottled as a single cask to commemorate the distillery's 70th anniversary.

The Saburomaru distillery, founded in July 1952 by Kotaro Inagaki and located in the Hokuriku region, obtained its whisky production license during a difficult period of post-war rice shortages. Since its creation, the distillery has specialized in smoked whiskies using peat. After a total renovation in 2016, master distiller Takahiko Inagaki continues this tradition, producing high-quality whiskies with careful attention to detail and respect for traditional methods. Saburomaru II High Priestess 70th Anniversary is a celebration of this heritage and the distillery's passion for peated whiskies.
