Nagahama Lightly Peated Mizunara Cask n°1060
Single Cask - 57,8% - 50 cl
Nagahama Mizunara Cask is a limited edition bottling from the Nagahama distillery, focusing on the influence of mizunara oak during whisky aging.
Read moreIts aromas evoke the very essence of freshly brewed tea leaves, with a touch of freshly baked bread for a familiar, comforting note. On the palate, discover a harmonious symphony of flavors where delicate peat gives way to distinct malt character, enhanced by spicy oak nuances from the Mizunara cask. The soft, slightly smoky finish leaves a mysterious incense imprint that brings this tasting to a close.
This lightly peated single cask was distilled in August 2020, then aged in a Mizunara cask for three years. Cask n°1060 was carefully selected to bring out the authentic flavors of Nagahama malt, in line with the distillery's philosophy: one brew, one cask, no tricks. The result is a subtle marriage between peat and the typical aromas of Japanese Mizunara oak, creating a whisky of rare elegance.
Nagahama Mizunara Cask is the work of master blender Takashi Kiyoi and distiller Yusuke Yahisa. The Nagahama distillery in Japan embodies an artisanal approach, where each brew is paired with a cask to reveal the full richness and complexity of Nagahama whiskies.
