The nose offers an attack of baked apple and ripe peach, followed by fresher, mentholated notes. Waves of roasted malt and smoky peat mingle with a subtle hint of iodine. On the palate, this expression surprises with fresh citrus notes reminiscent of grapefruit, evolving into smoky, roasted flavors. The bitter-sweet finish reveals hints of cotton candy and Japanese wasanbon sugar, melting delicately in the mouth.

This fifth expression in the Amahagan range is the first peated blended malt whisky. It is blended from Nagahama distillery malt casks, imported casks of peated and unpeated malts. Partially aged in bourbon casks, this whisky offers a complex, satisfying taste, highlighting smoky flavors and a fruity aroma.

Japan's Nagahama distillery bottles Amahagan Peated, adding a new chapter to the standard Amahagan series, which now comprises five products. This peated expression enriches the range, offering enthusiasts a variety of rich, complex flavors. Awarded a Silver Medal at WWA 2022, this whisky embodies the excellence and innovation of the Nagahama distillery.
