Distilled in Shinshu within the highest distillery in Japan, Mars Komagatake Tsunuki Aging 2019 as its name suggests was then transferred to the cellar of Tsunuki, the new Mars Whisky distillery for aging and bottling.
This is the 3rd expression in the "Tsunuki Aging" serie after the 2016 and 2018 editions, and consists of a blend of Bourbon and sherry casks. Mars Komagatake Tsunuki Aging 2019 is perfectly in line with its predecessors with a rich and complex nose expressing fruity notes of citrus and stewed fruit. Subsequently it reveals more lemony and vanilla notes to the palate, ending in a long and sweet finish.

The distillery Shinshu Mars
Nestled at an altitude of 800 meters in the heart of the Japanese Alps near Nagano, Shinshu was founded in 1985 by Hombo Shuzo, a wine and shochu producer based on the island of Kuyshu.
Shinshu is the highest distillery in Japan and enjoys a cool climate in summer and snowy winters where temperatures are often negative. Built at the foot of Mount Komagatake, from which its single malt takes its name, the distillery is surrounded by pure water springs which it uses for the production of its whiskies.
