This single malt is crafted at the renowned Fuji Gotemba Distillery, where all production processes, from distillation to bottling, are conducted on-site. Distilled in traditional pot stills, it is aged for over 8 years in American white oak and bourbon barrels, imparting rich flavors and a perfectly balanced character. Nestled at 620 meters above sea level, the distillery benefits from ideal climatic conditions for maturation, including pure air, constant mist, and high humidity, fostering slow and optimal aging. The use of pure meltwater from Mount Fuji, naturally filtered over 50 years, adds a unique dimension to this whisky, delivering freshness and delicacy.
Founded in 1972 by Kirin Brewery Company in collaboration with Seagram and Chivas, the Fuji Gotemba Distillery stands out for its commitment to crafting highly refined whiskies while incorporating the best international practices. Located just 12 kilometers from the summit of Mount Fuji, it leverages this prime location to produce whiskies that are both fruity and smooth, deeply influenced by the unique natural environment. By integrating Seagram’s expertise in grain whisky, Chivas’ mastery in malt whisky, and a steady supply of bourbon barrels from Four Roses, the distillery produces whiskies with varied and complex profiles. Distillation is carried out using three different methods—Scottish, Canadian, and American—to produce a diverse range of grain and malt whiskies, ensuring the singularity and richness of each bottle.

The distillery Fuji
The Mount Fuji Distillery, founded in 1972 by the Kirin group in the city of Gotemba, is located, as its name suggests, at the foot of the famous Mount Fuji, one of the most well-known emblem of Japan. While the distillery has historical knowledge in grain whiskies, it produces a wide variety of Japanese whiskies that all pay homage to the Fujisan.
The distillery is located at 610 meters above sea level, in a natural environment. The distillery has springs where the pure water has been filtered through layers of volcanic rocks for decades. At this altitude, the climate is rather cool with an average temperature of 13°C, and the high humidity throughout the year is ideal for maturing the whiskies.
