As its name suggests, Yamazakura Single Malt The First is the very first whisky distilled, aged, blended and bottled by the Asaka distillery located north of Tokyo. Neither colored nor chill-filtered in order to deliver its full aromatic potential, it already prefigures the character of the future creations of the distillery's Chief Blender.

Aged for 3 years in bourbon casks, its rather fresh nose expresses a delicate mix of fruity citrus aromas accompanied by malty notes. On the palate we find the malty side with cereal notes, and the fruity side with lemon zest, to which are added floral notes. In the finish it disappears with elegance leaving behind greedy notes of vanilla, and vegetal notes of oak.
