Kujira 24 years old is an exceptional single grain whisky elaborated according to the ancestral Japanese methods inherited from the making of Awamori, the traditional spirit of the Okinawa archipelago.
Made from 100% specially selected Indica rice, this Kujira grain whisky has been entirely distilled and matured in Japan in first fill bourbon casks for more than 24 years by the Kumesen distillery located in Okinawa. The warm climate of the island accelerates the ripening process, giving more intense aromas and a more pronounced taste.
Its aromatic profile is revealed at first in the nose with fruity notes of plum, some herbaceous notes, and a touch of mint candy. During the tasting a multitude of greedy aromas appear such as chocolate, vanilla, but also some spicy notes and a light woody smoke. In the finish it is the spices that last for a long time with Japanese pepper and licorice.
Founded in 1952, the Kumesen distillery mainly produces Awamori, the traditional spirit of the Okinawa archipelago, but since 1989 the desire to mix the know-how of whisky with that of awamori gave birth in 2018 to Kujira 20 years.
Product limited to 1 bottles per order.
